Incentive: Mentoring

Purpose: R.E.A.L. T.A.L.K. & R.O.Y.A.L is a mentoring program that focuses on young males and females who are filled with promises, but whose life circumstances make it harder to achieve.

Objective: R.E.A.L. T.A.L.K. & R.O.Y.A.L. will have mentors, tutors, and positive role models who will focus on academics, social, and vocational development using activities and communicative efforts designed to enhance self-esteem, academic growth, and social empowerment.

• Improved academic skills and keeping students in school

• Improved self-esteem and self-respect

• Supporting positive behaviors, attitudes, and goals

• Exposure to career choices, job skills, and retention

Mentoring is a development partnership through which one person shares knowledge, skills, information, and perspective to foster the personal and professional growth of someone else.

​

There will also be other mentoring programs such as mentoring from the prison to the streets.​

R.E.A.L. T.A.L.K. & R.O.Y.A.L. will have weekly meetings and those that attend will be allowed to go on our monthly outings, which will include ball games, bowling, movies, cultural events, dinner, church, etc. at the Dream Center in Oakdale, LA
